What will companies think of next!? Check out this product from SteelPad - a gaming glove! This has got to be worth checking out.

You basically get one glove in a small bag. It is all black and looks like this:

I'm not sure what it is made out of but the half that goes on your hand is made from a very soft material which is extremely comfortable. The edges are elasticated so it will provide a snug fit for pretty much any sized hand.

The part that goes around your wrist is stretchy and provides a lot of support, similar but slightly more supportive to that of one of those elastic bandages you wear for a sprain. This part also has a fat velcro fastening which ensures that glove doesn't become lose in any way what-so-ever. This also helps fit the glove to any sized hand.

The GG3 looks a little weird at first with the middle finger parts non existent but its clear that this offers more freedom for those middle fingers, and the thumb - middle fingers are there so the glove actually stays on your hand!

You are probably wondering the same as I did when I first heard of the glove - what is the point? Is it useful or not? I can safely say it does have its uses although every gamer does not defiantly need one of these.

Firstly it is comfortable to wear, we wear clothes to make us more comfortable do we not? The wrist part grips your wrist nicely and does provide a lot of support for those mammoth gaming sessions over the weekend or during a LAN party. It actually feels weird like something is missing when you take off the glove.

Like any other glove it does keep your hand warm, this might not be a problem for everyone but that is a bonus living in a freezing house like mine! However you could not use a regular glove as affective as the GG3.

The glove is not restrictive in any way, the elastic is in the right places to it grips where it should to keep the glove in the right place to prevent wrinkling or slipping.

Personally I wouldn't say that the glove helps you grip the mouse any better than your skin, afterall the fabric is soft and smooth. This does mean you can move your mouse easier. I cannot slide my bare hand / wrist over my mousemat, can you? but the glove does make this possible. This would be a real bonus for gamers using a low sensitivity setup, enabling fast and long movements with their mouse.

According to Steelpad the glove is right-hand use only, but I see and feel little difference when I stick it on my left paw. Seeing as they don't sell a left side one then this would be your only option, but I don't see a problem .

One thing about the glove I liked was that it stops your palm getting sweaty, in this way it does help your grip on the mouse. The other advantage of this is that there will be no sweat on your mousemat which optical mice hate. This can be a real pain in game especially in a match situation when the stress is high and no mistakes can be made. So a big plus point here for the GG3.

Overall this is a non-essential piece of kit, but it is a genuine aid and does have features that you can benefit from as a gamer.
