mmm shiny

I knew what this thing looked like, I knew it was heavy, I knew what it was called, I knew who made it, I knew what it was supposed to do, but I didn't really know how it was going to work. This might sound stupid (It does to me), I mean it says 'cord holder' so then it holds your cord right?

To keep it simple - Yes, it holds your cord. So what? Why do i need something to hold my mouse cord? I guess I need to mention at this point that if you have a cordless mouse then you would only need this product if you were looking for a small concealable weapon (please note that DFHQ doesn't condone violence or throwing your Steel cord holder at anyone no matter how much you dislike them).

Originally I though it looked nice but what benefit am I getting by using it? I tried it in different positions and with varying amounts of slack wire.

mmm heavy

After a few games I realised that this little shiny steel nugget is a godsend! This could be hard to image for you, and also for me to, but with my current setup this is a solution for an ongoing problem. For the past two years I have had a really annoying problem with the cables on my desk. I have a mouse cord, three speaker cables, a fire wire cable and a USB cable all going behind the desk at the same point. Plus the fact that there are 14 cables coming out the back of my computer means that there is one giant pile of spaghetti determined to create the most complicated knot ever known to mankind.

This affects me because when I move my mouse forwards the cable slides down behind the desk and then it gets jammed and it is difficult to pull back up, so I'm desperately trying to aim just one pixel down on the screen but my mouse cord is jammed aaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgggghhhhhh.

The Steel Cord Holder enables me to create some slack (see pic) which totally eliminates snags, hurrah.

The other use of the Steel Cord Holder is to stop you having the majority of your mouse cable on your desk, which in fact was the opposite of my problem. I didn't want the whole cable on my desk so I let it fall down the back of my desk which was the cause of my issue in the first place. Either way, the Steel Cord Holder solves the problem.

It's a cool little thing and the perfect solution to a problem I didn't know there was a solution to.
